Description

In its fourth year, Chicago Southland Mini Maker Faire is the premier maker event in the south suburbs of Chicago. We are proudly sponsored by our host organzation Spacelab, the Pipefitters Local 597 Training Center, Ozinga, and the Mokena Technology Committee.

Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these “makers” to show hobbies, experiments, projects.

We call it the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth — a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness.

Glimpse the future and get inspired!

History

Founded four years ago, and originally hosted at the Historic Yunker Farm as Mokena Mini Maker Faire, Southland Mini Maker Faire is now in its third consecutive year at the Pipefitters Local 597 Training Facility (the largest Pipefitters training facility in the United States). Southland Mini Maker Faire is a collaboration between Spacelab, a local community space for creative people, and the Mokena Technology Committee. With about 1,000 visitors last year, this year’s event is set to be the biggest yet!
